Henderson Building Solutions provided LEED fundamental commissioning services for the conversion of an existing electronics retail store into Sprouts Farmers Market. The 32,900 SF renovated building is part of a multi-tenant development and includes retail sales, food preparation, cooler and freezer boxes, receiving and stock areas, management offices, and employee break room.

For this project, commissioning services began in the design phase with review of the construction documents so that comments could be submitted to the design team with the goal of detecting and correcting operational issues prior to construction. Our commissioning team interfaced with the contractors during site visits to Sprouts in order to provide oversight for the pre-functional commissioning checklist, the start-up reports for the major pieces of commissioned equipment and review of the HVAC test and balance report. During the acceptance phase, the commissioning agent directed functional testing of the HVAC systems and lighting controls.

As a result, this project achieved LEED Silver certification under the LEED Commercial Interiors rating system.
