Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 343-bed, acute medical care facility and Level 1 Trauma Center. The campus is comprised of four medical office buildings and two pharmacies. In the 37 years since OPRMC began serving Johnson County and the surrounding areas, the facility has aged, prompting the owner, HCA Midwest to call their friends at Henderson Building Solutions.

During the initial project assessment two of the four emergency generators were found to be at the end of their useful life. The Henderson team quickly designed a temporary solution using the recently installed patient tower generator system to back-up the failed generators’ loads.

A new system, addressing the failing generators concern was designed. Henderson worked with the hospital's team to create a generator system with parallel redundancy. After coordinating with the hospital and the installing contractor, to ensure there would be no disruption to operation, the generators were installed. Due to the nature of the project strict infectious controls procedures were mandated and enforced.
