Overland Park Regional Medical Center

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 343-bed, acute medical care facility and Level 1 Trauma Center. The campus is comprised of four medical office buildings and two pharmacies. In the 37 years since OPRMC began serving Johnson County and the surrounding areas, the facility has aged, prompting the owner, HCA Midwest to call their friends at Henderson Building Solutions.

Our team has performed several infrastructure improvement projects across the campus. Comfort complaints that pointed to a lack of sufficient cooling and reheat confirmed damper controls were inoperable and that air-cooling equipment was not connected to emergency power. Our team identified and implemented a new mechanical set-up complete with VAV reheat terminals and DDC controls.

With two generators for the emergency supply systems being at the end of their useful life, we created a temporary solution utilizing the recently installed patient tower generator system to back-up the failed generators’ loads. Working with the hospital’s team, we were then able to deliver a generator system with parallel redundancy. Our commissioning team provided quality assurance through all of our work on the campus.
