Medical City North Hills, a 164-bed hospital located in a northwest suburb of Fort Worth, provides accessible, superior health care to patients in the surrounding community. Quality care demands a quality environment, which is why the hospital regularly includes inevitable equipment upgrades and replacements within a facility master plan.

As part of that plan, the owner called our team at Henderson Building Solutions to provide turnkey services for the replacement of three air handing units (AHUs) on the fifth floor. The three AHUs were original to the 36-year-old hospital and had a combined airflow of 100,000 CFM. The largest concern for the owner was keeping the hospital cool during the process, a necessity not only for comfort but also for patient well-being. To minimize the impact on the hospital, we turnkeyed the work in phases, utilizing temporary air handlers as we replaced the units using outside louvers. On time and under budget, our expert services and knowledgeable team were able to keep the hospital fully operational, and pleasant, throughout the project.
