Resorts World Las Vegas opened its doors in 2021 as the first ground-up, integrated resort development to be completed on the Las Vegas Strip in a decade. Resorts World is home to a 175,000 SF casino and a 59-story east and west tower hotel encompassing more than 3,500 rooms and suites. The property also includes ‘The District’, a 70,000 SF retail and restaurant center spread throughout two floors; 250,000 SF dedicated to meeting and banquet space; a 5.5-acre pool complex and spa; 100,000 SF of entertainment space including a music venue with capacity for 5,000 people.

The first phase of our commissioning services for this 87-acre site included the casino resort, high-rise hotel, and a 22,000-ton central utility plant (CUP). A unique challenge presented to our team was that the CUP had not operated for approximately 15 years. This required our team to take a close look at the existing systems and analyze how to best get them functioning for the resort.

Additional systems within our scope were the building management system, energy transfer stations and site distribution for all heating, cooling, ventilation, and exhaust systems, scheduled/occupancy sensor and dimming controls, emergency power generators, and automatic transfer switches. Henderson Building worked closely with the contractor team and Resorts World staff to get this high-profile resort up and running smoothly.
