Henderson Building Solutions provided comprehensive IECC 2021 commissioning services for the new Leman Academy of Excellence Bayou Gulch campus in Parker, Colorado, the school’s eighth tuition-free location. The new campus includes classrooms, science labs, art rooms, collaborative learning spaces, a gymnasium, music room, and commons/cafeteria, creating an environment that fosters learning while meeting modern performance standards.

Our scope included commissioning HVAC systems and controls, domestic hot water systems, lighting controls, plumbing fixture controls, and energy monitoring components, as well as managing a building envelope subconsultant to verify compliance per IECC C402.5.15.

From design through post-occupancy, we developed a commissioning plan and specifications, reviewed enclosure design for compliance, coordinated with contractors, and executed functional performance testing, including 100% HVAC testing and full envelope observation. We maintained the issues log, verified TAB documentation, and reviewed O&M manuals for IECC compliance. Post-occupancy, we will return for back-checks, seasonal testing, and final reporting to ensure a high-performing, code-compliant facility that supports student comfort, operational confidence, and long-term energy efficiency.
