The renovation and expansion of Congregation Beth Shalom shows how thoughtful design and high-performing building systems can support community, comfort, and long-term reliability. As part of this transformation, Henderson Building Solutions provided commissioning services to help ensure the synagogue’s new addition operates as intended from day one.

Commissioning played a critical role in aligning complex building systems with the Owner Project Requirements. The project team navigated equipment lead times, construction challenges, and evolving controls integration. Our team worked alongside engineers, subcontractors, and controls providers to identify issues early, maintain project momentum, and reduce the risk of costly delays or rework. The project included intricate architectural lighting design, acoustics, mechanical and electrical engineering, and fire and life safety systems designed by our sister company, Henderson Engineers.

For the synagogue, we verified system performance, optimized functionality, and ensured all systems worked together within the architecturally unique space. This approach improved system reliability and long-term performance, reduced operational risk through early issue identification, enhanced occupant comfort for congregants and staff, and strengthened coordination across project stakeholders.

Through diligent observation, adaptive problem-solving, and continuous on-site engagement, Henderson Building Solutions delivered a fully functional, efficient, and visually stunning environment. The result is a modernized synagogue that meets design intent and performs reliably for years to come.
