Johnson County Community College is one of the largest higher education institutions in Kansas. Since the college opened in 1969, JCCC has grown to offer more than 50 career and certificate programs, and serve more than 35,000 students.

Henderson Engineers and JCCC have partnered on several campus projects since 1999. We’ve provided a range of services including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology, construction management, and commissioning services.

Currently, Henderson is providing the school with turnkey, design-build energy and infrastructure improvements. The project’s primary goals are to:

Improve energy efficiency and operation of the campus chilled water system
Upgrade the variable air volume boxes and air handling system to improve operation, comfort and energy savings
Ensure performance improvement
Verify energy savings

In our near 20-year history with JCCC, we’ve designed expansions or enhancements for many of the school’s 23 campus buildings, including:

Center for Business and Technology
Dining hall
Galileo Pavilion
Greenhouse
Hospitality and Culinary Academy
Science yard and tree trail

We look forward to collaborating on more campus projects with this long-tenured Henderson client and top Kansas community college.
