Originally completed in 1934, the historic Jackson County Courthouse contains many existing components of infrastructure that remain original to the building. After two separate flooding events, severe damaged was seen throughout the building. Together, Henderson Engineers and Henderson Building Solutions performed an expedited remediation assessment identifying the extent of damages to systems and recommendations for replacement and/or repair.

A few improvements included restoring historical pendant lighting within the public corridors and an improved layered lighting solution for courtrooms with programmed dimming controls. The judges chambers and administration offices were also restored and remodeled with new ductwork and diffusers, new modernized power, and lighting/controls. To keep the building fully operational during the replacement scope, our team provided a phased replacement approach.
